ABOUT THE BREED

Hailing from the harsh wilderness of Siberia, Siberian Forest Cats have been around for hundreds of years, long enough to be included in Russian fairy tales. Because of their origin, these cats have luxurious triple-layer coats, including a water-repellant layer on the outside. With strong bodies and powerful legs, these athletic cats are known for their jumping ability and youthful energy. They will display kittenish behavior for about five years after they are born, which makes them prime playmates.

Siberian cats are not only athletic: they are also quite intelligent. They can learn a few tricks if you take the time to entertain them. Their lively curiosity requires a social environment and they love playing with toys and interacting with people. These cats frequently get along well with other pets and children.
